First-five Ihaia West and midfielder Robbie Fruean were instrumental in both the home side’s tries.
Manawatu will play Southland at 1.05pm today in the second Championship semifinal.
Meanwhile, Taranaki will play Auckland at 3.35pm today and Tasman will take on Canterbury at 6.05pm in the Premiership semifinals.
