"The hard-work and dedication prior to the World Championships, was a major tribute in the Air Pacific Under-21's, 57-43 win against Pacific neighbours Samoa, in Rarotonga yesterday."
These are sentiments echoed by Coach Melissa Walker.
Speaking to Fijivillage Sports from Rarotonga, Walker said the girls showcased their flair on court and proved to be fitter.
Walker adds that despite the win, she felt that the shooters still had alot of improvement to work on.
In other results Australia thumped South Africa 73 goals to 22, and Singapore beat Papua New Guinea 61 goals to 23.
