It’s very difficult to run taxi business in the country due to high number of taxis said Fiji Taxi Union.
As a result of this Fiji Taxi Union General Secretary Rishi Ram said new permit holders should talk to existing operators or drivers on difficulties faced in managing a taxi business before applying for taxi permits.
Ram said he is giving this advice as he notes that more people are applying for taxi permits.
Currently there are more than 6,000 taxi operators in the country.
