With confirmation from Police girls as young as 14 years are now involved in Prostitution and that a major operation will start next week to clamp down on prostitution, Fijivillage news tried to speak to several of these sex workers today.
While some shyied away and others just walked away, We managed to speak to a 25 year old sex worker who said she is in the business out of desperation as she has her mother and four children to support. She said she has no other means to make a living.
The Police operations are expected to start next week to clamp down on sex workers.
