The Minister for Defense, National Security, Disaster Management and Immigration Ratu Epeli Ganilau has today issued a statement that Fiji Times Publisher Evan Hannah cannot appeal for his removal or deportation from Fiji recently.
Ratu Epeli was also trying to correct a statement he made over the weekend where he reportedly said that Hannah can appeal his case in Court.
According to the Amendment to the Immigration Act of 2003 under the Promulgation No.3 of 2008, "No appeal shall lie from decisions made by an immigration officer acting in accordance with the directions of, or instructions given in respect of any particular case by the Minister."
