A handful of All Blacks will play for the Chiefs tonight in a super rugby warm up match against the Reds in Queensland.

Co-captain Aaron Cruden will lead the side while Sam Cane, Tawera Kerr-Barlow and Brodie Retallick are also expected to take the field.

The Reds will field an impressive unit of their own, with eight Wallabies named to play in the match, including Quade Cooper and Will Genia.

Meanwhile, the Waratahs defeated the Blues 33-12 in their Super Rugby warm up match last night.

Benji Marshall struggled in his first Sydney outing for Blues since quitting the National Rugby League.

The former West Tigers star was constantly on the back foot in his 40 minutes on the field as the Blues were thrashed 33 12 by the New South Wales Waratahs in their Super Rugby warm up in Sydney last night.

The Crusaders defeated the Highlanders 28-15 in another match.

The super rugby season will officially start next Sunday with the Sharks playing the Bulls and the Cheetahs will meet the Lions.
