Cancer stricken Super 15 star Kurtis Haiu is facing serious assault charges after an incident in south of Auckland.
The 26 year old Blues lock faces three charges assault on a female, assault with intent to use a weapon, and common assault.
Haiu has been given a 65% chance of recovery from primary bone cancer.
The Blues host the Stormers this Friday at 7.35pm.
