South Africa's star wing Bryan Habana is set to be named IRB Player of the Year.
The final decision is set to be announced at the 2007 IRB Awards ceremony which is currently underway in Paris.
The shortlist of five also included Argentinean playmakers Juan Martin Hernandez and Felipe Contepomi, French centre Yaanick Jauzion and last year's winner Richie McCaw.
Springbok sprinter Habana was the RWC 2007 tournament top try-scorer, touching down eight times on the way to winning the title.
