Bulls and South Africa wing Bryan Habana will miss this month's round of the Super 14, after fracturing a hand in his side's 16-9 win over the Lions in Johannesburg.

Habana will have an operation on the injury later this week, with his recovery time expected to be between four and six weeks.

He will thus miss the Bulls visits to the Hurricanes and the Crusaders matches which will test the current table toppers title credentials, and he could also miss the entire tour, meaning he would miss the visit to the Waratahs.

Jaco Pretorius is likely to be Habana's replacement initially.

The Bulls will host the Stormers this weekend.
