The government has the full support of the 5 year land and housing plan set up by the Housing Authority (HA) of Fiji.
This will see close to 10,000 families get a proper house and decent shelter.
Chief Executive Housing Authority Alipate Naiorosui said the core function is to develop and produce affordable housing to low income earners, as well as providing an attractive loan package on a competitive basis to customers.
Naiorosui said the government has given HA a guarantee of $150 million for the next 5 years.
Yesterday the HA announced that Exim Bank in China has approved a $70 million loan at a low interest of 2 percent.
