H1N1 virus at high risk
WHO Team Leader Communicable Disease Surveillance and Response, Dr Jacob Kool said the virus, usually mild, can be dangerous for people with certain conditions which includes diabetes, obesity or even women that are pregnant.
Kool also said pregnant women must avoid all exposure to the virus because it has not been determined whether or not Tamiflu, which is used to tackle the virus, is safe for them to take.
The Health Ministry said that 79 people have tested for the virus, with two confirmed cases to date.
Precautionary measures people need to take are: wash your hands frequently with water and soap, avoid touching your face, don't shake hands, kiss or hug, when you cough or sneeze, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or your hand and remember to wash your hands afterwards, avoid close contact with ill people, and if you have the cough or runny nose don't go to work and don't send your kids to school if they are ill and also see a doctor if you think you might have influenza.
