About one third of the world's population will be infected with the H1N1 virus in the coming months.
This has been confirmed by WHO Team Leader Communicable Disease Surveillance and Response, Dr Jacob Kool who said right now the most important message to people is to take precautionary measures.
Meanwhile, Acting Director Public Health, Dr Josaia Samuela said they have enough of the medicine Tamiflu to cater to about 2 percent of Fiji's population.
Precautionary measures to take are: always wash your hands frequently with water and soap, avoid touching your face, don't shake hands and avoid kissing or hugging sick people. When you cough or sneeze, cover your nose and mouth with tissue or your hand, wash your hands afterwards, and if you have the cough or runny nose don't go to work and don't send your kids to school if they are ill, and also see a doctor if you think you might have H1N1.
Meanwhile the World Health Organizaion has decided that changes be made to the name of the flu, Influenza A H1N1. The new name is now referred to "Pandemic H1N1 2009 ".
