H1N1 flu cases in Fiji have now risen to 10.

This has been confirmed by Health Ministry spokesperson Iliesa Tora who said samples received and tests done have found that four more people have the H1N1 flu.

Tora said these four new cases are all from Nadi with all having recent travel history.

As of this morning, the number of cases was six confirmed by Health Ministry Permanent Secretary Dr Sala Saketa who added they could not confirm where the sixth person confirmed with H1N1 lived.

Reiterating precautionary measures for people to take: always wash your hands frequently with water and soap, avoid touching your face, don't shake hands and avoid kissing or hugging sick people.

When you cough or sneeze, cover your nose and mouth with tissue or your hand and wash your hands afterwards, and if you have the cough or runny nose don't go to work and don't send your kids to school if they are ill, and also see a doctor if you think you might have H1N1.
