Former Fiji Under 20 soccer coach Gurjeet Singh has been appointed to take the reins of the Suva soccer team.

Singh who coached Navua last season was appointed this morning for one year and his contract may be extended depending on the performance of the Suva team.

Suva soccer president Mahen Prasad said Singh is a very lucky coach and hopes he will help Suva win a few tournaments this year.

Singh will start his work from this afternoon at the National Stadium, as Suva prepares to take on Labasa in their opening National Soccer League match on the 27th of this month.

Singh last season coached Navua to win the Fiji FACT and helped Southern Forest Combine to win the National Club Championship.
