Zac Guildford’s out but the good news for the All Blacks ahead of Sunday’s quarterfinal is that playing-in-pain skipper Richie McCaw will lineup against the Argentineans despite his ongoing foot problems.

All Blacks assistant coach Steve Hansen confirmed Guildford would not be considered for selection because of a small tear in his hamstring suffered at training on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, there has been plenty of speculation that McCaw could be in line to join Carter on the sidelines as he’s playing through the pain barrier with his foot injury which has bothered him throughout the rugby year.

It’s understood the injury - which started with a stress fracture at the start of the year is chronic and is proving a severe handicap for him.

The All Blacks will face Argentina at Eden Park on Sunday night at 7.30.
