Zac Guildford's rugby future may be determined this week.

It is understood Guildford, 23, will appear at a New Zealand Rugby Union misconduct hearing on Thursday after being involved in an alcohol related incident in Christchurch in January.

It will be the second time the former All Blacks and Crusaders wing has fronted a New Zealand Rugby Union misconduct hearing in 15 months.

Guildford was suspended from four Crusaders' matches early last year due to the latest incident of an exclusive drug and alcohol use.

Guildford, who volunteered to stand down from the Crusaders, has not played for the side this season but the team will be eager for his return following their defeat to the Blues last weekend.

Meanwhile the Crusaders now faces a mammoth task this weekend as they will play the Hurricanes at 6.35pm Friday at the Westpac Stadium.
