A board member of the Sugarcane Growers Fund has stressed that there will be no writing off of the $15 million loan given to South Pacific Fertilisers Ltd.
Surendra Sharma who was also former Chairman of South Pacific Fertilisers Limited believes other board members of the growers fund do not agree on suggestions made by the Fiji Sugar Corporation to consider this loan as bad debts.
Sharma said the Growers Fund is a $55 million bank for farmers which they depend on for soft loans.
Meanwhile, new chairman for South Pacific Fertilisers Limited Sada Sivan told Fijivillage that he will now start to look at options to start repaying the $15 million loan taken from Sugarcane Growers Fund.
