Outgoing Commissioner of Police Major General Ben Groenewald has called on the senior officers to support the Acting Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho.

Speaking after the handing over to the Acting Commissioner at the Police headquarters at Laucala Beach today, Groenewald said he will leave his office today without any hard feelings to any person.

He thanked the officers for the 18 months that they have worked together.

Groenewald says at times they did differ, but they differed for  the betterment of the organisation.

He called on the officers to support Acting Commissioner Qiliho because they all have a common achievement.

Brigadier General Qiliho says he is happy with the handing over process adding he is pleased with the discussions held with the outgoing Commissioner of Police.

The Acting Commissioner and his senior officers also hosted the outgoing Commissioner to a farewell morning tea thanking him for his time in office.

The Acting Commissioner will have a series of briefings throughout the week and is expected to make further comments on his plans for the organisation later in the week.
