Greed motivating chiefs, leaders-PM
Speaking at Nameka village in Tailevu today while opening the $3 million road upgrading funded by the Chinese government, Bainimarama said this group of people were against the Charter because of personal reasons, since they want back power to fill their own pockets.
While speaking to the villagers in the presence of government officials and ministers, Bainimarama said he believes that the Charter is the way forward for Fiji and told villagers that the Charter will be implemented into the new constitution.
Meanwhile, the people of Nameka were delighted after the completion of the 26km road in Tailevu.
Komai Nameka, Tevita Vonolagi said they have been asking for the road upgrading for the past 20 years.
He said they had asked past governments but never received a positive response.
The upgraded road will make it easier for villagers to take their crops to Nausori to sell at the market.
