The 67 year old grandfather of Lami who is alleged to have raped and indecently assaulted an 8yr old girl over a period of time, appeared in Court this afternoon before the Chief Magistrate, Ajmal Gulab Khan.
Chief Magistrate Khan refused the 67 year olds bail application due to the severity of the offence.
The victim and the suspect are from the same settlement and the Court also heard that tension was high in the village so the Grandfather has been remanded in Custody.
The matter was reported to police when the girl relayed the information to her mother.
The case has been deferred to the 23rd of this month because the accused has requested to find a Legal Counsel.
