Grand Dad sentenced to 18 years
High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo while delivering his sentence told the man who was found guilty of four counts of rape, three counts of incest and two counts of indecent assault, that what he has done has shown a clear inability to perform as a father, grandfather, and father-in-law, describing his actions as monstrous, where he undermined and exploited the trust of the very people who looked to him for protection.
Justice Temo in his ruling added the fact that he repeatedly committed the offences between the period from 1989-2007 and continually threatened his daughter, granddaughter and daughter-in-law, broke every rule of family life.
Justice Temo told the man that raping his daughter-in-law while she recovered from a mis-carriage as his own son attended to the garden outside their home, as well raping his granddaughter on three separate occasions in 2007, can only be described as a despicable act, and shatters all forms of trust between his children.
