Suva Grammar Schools Lepani Naivalu broke a 12-year-old record at the Suva Zone Two Athletics meet at the TFL National Stadium this afternoon.

Naivalu won the 200 metres final in the Inter boys division with a new record time of 22.23 seconds. He defeated Marist Brothers High School's athletics captain Banuve Tabakaucoro, who settled for the silver medal.

The old record stand at 22.30 seconds set by Brett Williams in 1996.

Meanwhile looking at the medal tally, in the boys division Suva Grammar seems to have won the title over Marist Brothers. They now lead with 17 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze.

Marist Brothers in second place with 10 gold, 11 silver and 9 bronze.

In the girls division Suva Grammar has unofficially retained their title. They have so far won 13 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze while Lomay is in second place with just 2 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze.
