Suva Grammar School is now leading the girls and boys division as the Suva Zone Two athletics meet continues at the TFL National Stadium.

The Grammarian Lions now lead the boys diision with 5 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze. Most of their gold medals came from the field events while 1 gold was won on the track.

Marist Brothers now slips to second place with 4 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze.

In the girls division Suva Grammar leads with 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze while Saint Joseph Secondary is in second place with 2 gold and 1 silver.

Meanwhile two new records have been set so far at the Suva Zone Two.

Former Wainimala Junior Secondary student, Nohela Taqai, who is now with Suva Grammar School, broke the record in the Girls 1,500 metres final, with a new time of 5 minutes and 19 seconds.

The old record stood at 5 minutes and 23 seconds set by Kasanita Tabua of Latianara in 2007.

The second record came from Merelita Leba of Laucala Bay Secondary School in the Open Girls 3,000 metres final when she finished her race in a time of 11 minutes and 32 seconds.

She broke the record of her school mate Selina Kasa who set it last year with a time of 12 minutes and 41 seconds.
