Agreements are now being drawn up between the interim government and the Australian government on the appointment of Fiji's Acting High Commissioner and Consul General.
As Australian Foreign Affairs Minister Stephen Smith arrives in the country later today for the Ministerial Contact Group meeting, he has confirmed that Fiji's nominations to the two diplomatic posts in Australia has been accepted.
Interim Foreign Affairs Minister Ratu Epeli Nailatikau confirmed that the postings will be filled once the agreement for the appointments is signed between the two governments.
They hope to fill the two posts by the end of next month.
