Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum today withdrew a parliamentary motion from the government side after Opposition parliamentarian, Biman Prasad apologized to the Speaker of Parliament, Doctor Jiko Luveni for questioning the Speaker's impartiality.
The government side only withdrew the motion when Prasad made the apology in a meeting earlier today.
Doctor Luveni said the motion was aimed at upholding the integrity and sanctity of parliament.
Doctor Luveni said this action should not be condoned however she has accepted Biman Prasad's apology.
