The government has confirmed that it will give $1.6 million towards Public Service Broadcasting for television to the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation Limited when it starts off its TV service.

Permanent Secretary for Information Lt Colonel Neumi Leweni said the government owned broadcaster is expected to start off the TV service within the next 6 to 8 months.

According to Leweni, there are a number of misconceptions but he confirmed that the government has agreed to provide the public service broadcast funds.
