The Government will have to fork out $4.6 million dollars to pay for the restoration work for the damaged roads and bridges in the Eastern division alone.
Ministry of Works spokesperson, Sainiana Waqainabete said the islands of Lau group alone will cost the Govt $2.8 million while the Lomaiviti group a total of $1.8 million will have to be spent on the restoration of the roads and bridges.
Waqainabete said a total of three bulldozers will be used for the restoration and repair work out there in the islands of Lau grop especially Cicia, Vanuabalavu and Lakeba.
Meanwhile another $4 million will be spent to restore the damages on the roads and bridges in the Northern division.
