Govt to build 3 new schools
The schools are Beqa/Yanuca Secondary School, Nuku Secondary School, Serua Primary School, Cakaudrove and Duavata Secondary School in Udu, Vanua Levu.
The Beqa/Yanuca Secondary School will take in children progressing from Rukua/Raviravi village school, Uluinakorovatu Primary School, Yanuca Primary School and Sawau District School.
The government is spending $90,000 for the new secondary school.
Children from these schools come to Viti Levu for education.
Nuku Secondary School will provide education for children coming from Nuku Catholic School and Waidiro Primary School.
The school will receive a grant of $62,000 for the construction of school buildings.
Primary school children who attend Lavena Primary will no longer travel for miles to attend school.
Government has given $152,000 for the construction of classrooms and an administration block.
Construction work in all schools is to begin by the end of July.
