Eighty three households in the villages of Namakala and Waiqanake on the outskirts of Lami, have a reason to smile after Government resolved to assist in the construction of a new water supply system.

Permanent Secretary for Provincial Development Manasa Vaniqi met with the villagers and assured them that Government will look into their plight, and will assist the villagers in the construction of water tanks and piped water supply system.

Vaniqi said this is one of Government's priority which is to improve service delivery to the rural dwellers, as these two villages have been without safe and reliable fresh water supply for some time.

The total cost of the project is estimated to be about $60,000.
