Permanent Secretary for Finance John Prasad said governments’ move to get their accounting practices on a solid foundation is not driven by the International Monetary Funds loan requirements.
Responding to questions at a press conference after the announcement of the revised budget yesterday, Prasad said this is part of Governments process of getting a better accounting accrual system as the previous system was not up to standard.
Prasad added the new system is important as it is internationally recognised.
