Government supply workers are still in the dark over when and who will be laid off come the planned reform in the Government supplies Department after the Public Service Commission revealed that 170 will be made redundant.

Public Employees Union General Secretary, Pita Delana said the union which has about 20 members in the Department, are confused at the moment on the stand the Ministry is taking.

However, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Public Enterprise, Taina Tagicakibau had earlier told Village news that once the 2008 Budget announcement is made then they will precede with talks their planned reform.

Under the Reform, workers will either be moved to another department or they have the option of moving on and looking for another means of employment.
