Govt should be employer of choice-PM
That is the message of the Prime Minister and Public Service Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama to civil servants while launching the Civil Service week in Suva this morning.
Commodore Bainimarama said this means ensuring that terms and conditions of the civil servants are appropriate, fair and just.
He added that this also means the continuous training of all civil servants even permanent secretaries and to have a transparent system that appoints, promotes and disciplines based on merit.
He also added that there are currently reforms underway and anyone who breaches any law set down will face the full brunt of the law.
The Civil Service week will last for three days and has the theme of Striving for Excellence through Change and reform.
This morning all Government ministries and statutory bodies all had their booths at Sukuna Park and members of the public are being asked to come forward with any complaints or queries with regards to any service provided by the civil service.
Similar celebrations will be held around the country in Labasa and Lautoka.
