Government has secured a $60 million loan from the Malaysia government to improve the two main highways in Viti Levu.

This has been revealed by the Minister for Transport Col Timoci Natuva at the Fiji Bus Operators Association annual general meeting yesterday.

Natuva said the rehabilitation of the Queens and Kings Road will commence in July this year where Government is looking at ensuring our roads are not only reliable and comfort but also safe.

He added government will also work with the operators to achieve a zero level in bus accident and encourage the industry to produce professional drivers who not only conduct their work with pride, but their service as one of national importance in terms of national image building.
