Government has decided to resume the payment of pensions to former ministers and parliamentarians from today.

Permanent Secretary for the Prime Minister's office, Colonel Pio Tiko-duadua said this was after government revoked the regulation of Pensions and Retirement Allowances Decree 2009 which was promulgated last December.

He stresses that this was a privilege to all pensioners which was taken away but no decision has been made to pay the pension from today onwards.
