Government today received further assistance to their relief efforts with a donation of $50,000 from the Bank of South Pacific.

BSP CEO and Managing Director Ian Clyne said rebuilding was a social responsibility of all responsible citizens of Fiji, and they have the resources to do the work on the ground to assist those severely affected.

BSP made a donation of $100,000 towards the Hurricane Tomas relief efforts.

$50,000 went towards the Prime Minister=s Rehabilitation and Relief Fund, $30,000 to the Habitat of Humanity and $10,000 each to Red Cross and Save the Children Fiji.

Accepting the donation on behalf of the parties Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's office Lieutenant Colonel Pio Tikodudua said the donation is a sign to those affected that people do care about the difficulties they are facing and are willing to help.
