The government quarters which have been rented out are fetching more than $50,000 per month in rent.
PSC Permanent Secretary, Parmesh Chand said the renting out of government quarters has been successful so far and they expect the figure to rise in the coming months.
Chand has also confirmed that they are also looking at certain government assets which are lying idle.
He said ten more government quarters have been identified and will undergo renovations before they are leased by September this year.
A total of 70 quarters will be rented out by the end of this year on commercial basis.
Most of the government quarters rented are located in prime areas around the greater Suva area ranging from Ratu Sukuna road, Muanikau, Domain and Veiuto.
