The government plans to revive the Performance Management System (PMS) within the civil service.
Public Service Commission Chairman Josefa Serulagilagi said one of the major priorities is the implementation of a system that will measure the efficiency and productivity of all state employees.
Serulagilagi said they have decided that a simpler model of the PMS will be used.
Meanwhile, as part of the Yellow ribbon project, the PSC has also decided that a review will be conducted on the ten years stand down period to facilitate the re-absorption of ex-offenders.
Serulagilagi said in the meantime, considerations will be given on a case by case basis, upon the recommendation of the Commissioner of Prisons and the relevant delegate.
He confirmed that the appointment of ex-offenders is not delegated and it will remain with the PSC and stressed that offenders will not be allowed a third chance.
