Kenneth Zinck was not on the government's radar.
Those are the words of Permanent Secretary for Information, Sharon Smith-Johns as Zinck continues to make comments in Australia that he was being chased by the military and managed to flee Fiji.
Zinck who is on a three month tourist visa in Australia is now seeking asylum to remain in Australia until the next elections in Fiji.
Smith-Johns have told Pacific Beat that the government was not interested in Zinck.
When asked what would happen to Zinck if he is not given asylum in Australia and has to return to Fiji, Smith-Johns said nothing will happen to the former Minister.
Zinck was a minister in the Qarase government from 2001 to 2006.
He lost his seat in the 2006 elections.
