The government has stressed that it never revoked any broadcasting licenses following the introduction of the Spectrum Decree last year.
Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said the US Department of State 2009 Human Rights Report is misleading as it does not give the true picture that no licenses have been revoked.
Sayed-Khaiyum also questions whether the authors of the US Human Rights Report are encouraging trial by the media in relation to matters before the courts.
He said the contents of the report are based on pedestrian observations.
