Govt may look abroad for Prisons Commissioner
Permanent Secretary for the Prime Minister’s Office, Col. Pio Tikoduadua confirmed that Brigadier General Iowane Naivalurua is still Commissioner of Prisons until someone is appointed on this position.
He adds they will also look off-shore if they cannot find a suitable person locally.
Brigadier General Iowane Naivalurua has been appointed the new Commissioner of Police.
It has also been announced that Joeli Baleilevuka will be the Deputy Commissioner of Police.
Col. Tikoduadua also revealed that there will not be any further reshuffling of police officers in the Fiji Police Force anytime soon.
Tikoduadua confirms government has completed its exercise after reshuffling seven senior officers and any further decisions on the matter now rests with the new Police Commissioner.
