The Fiji government said it looks forward to the meeting with the Commonwealth representatives next week.

The Government said it also notes that the Commonwealth remains committed to engaging with Fiji not withstanding its suspension from the Commonwealth yesterday.

The statement said the Fiji government cherishes its membership of the Commonwealth and also believes that the Commonwealth can partner with Fiji to resolve its long standing systematic and structural challenges.

Commonwealth Special envoy Sir Paul Reeves will visit Fiji for three days from next Wednesday to hold talks with Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama and other stakeholders.
