The Fiji Government has invited Pacific Island leaders to take part in the "Engaging Fiji Meeting" to be held in Natadola next week.

Foreign Affairs Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola said many Pacific leaders have indicated their willingness to support Fiji's progress in implementing the Roadmap for Democracy and sustainable socioeconomic Development and Fiji's Strategic framework for change under the People's Charter for Change, Peace and Progress.

Kubuabola said the Government is keen to discuss these issues with leaders and friends who have an interest in creating pathways forward towards a true and sustainable democracy.

Part of the Engaging Fiji meeting would be a presentation by Pangea World, a knowledge based society from the US which works towards enriching the performance of the hospitality sector and science to yield benefits.

Pangea World is carrying out a pilot project in Fiji and also provides funding and support to Pacific Islands.

Meanwhile, Kubuabola added that the Government is not opposed to observer missions interested in visiting and finding out for themselves the ground progress being made in Fiji as long as it fits the Government's timing and is in compliance with procedures.

The "Engaging Fiji Meeting" will be held in Natadola next Thursday and Friday.
