The Government has today stated that it has the authority to refuse the entry of anyone into Fiji.
Permanent Secretary for Information, Lt Colonel Neumi Leweni said the wife of Academic Dr. Brij Lal is one of those people who have been refused entry into Fiji.
Director Immigration, Major Nemani Vuniwaqa confirmed this morning that Padma Lal's name is on the prohibited Immigrant list.
According to Major Vuniwaqa, Lal came to Fiji on Monday night and was stopped at the Nadi Airport.
Lal was sent back to Australia yesterday morning.
