Overall performance of the various government departments has not improved over the years and the improvements are quite slow.
Those were the words of Interim Public Service and Public Enterprises Minister, Poseci Bune while opening the two day Good Governance Workshop at the Tradeswinds Convention Center in Lami this morning.
Bune added that ministries failed to achieve their 2006 target of 2% growth of the performance compared to previous years and 2007 appears to be no exception.
He has revealed that some board decisions were not implemented and has called on the Directors to carry out their roles diligently.
Bune said the ministry has had a daunting task this year in monitoring various boards performance.
This workshop is funded by the Asian Development bank which continues at the Tradewinds Convention Centre.
