The Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the government right now cannot do anything to help reduce the prices in petrol and Kerosene.

While answering to questions on our sister Station Radio Sargam during a talkback, Sayed-Khaiyum said that there is no other source through which prices could be reduced.

He says people need to understand that the prices fluctuate due to many uncertainties, like war and other major events in the world.

However, he said the Interim Government is trying to look into other sustainable means of providing energy. He says another Dam in Nadarivatu will be built soon which will see a reduction in the need for oil, and the balance of payment will be positively affected, which will be a good sign for consumers.
