Govt begins FHL investigation
Permanent Secretary for Information and Military spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Neumi Leweni said as a first step, government has asked Fijian Holdings Chairman Isoa Kaloumaira and group Managing Director Sereana Qoro to step aside to allow the investigations to proceed without hindrance.
Meanwhile in a statement issued by Fijian Holdings Limited, the Acting Chairman, Iowane Naiveli confirmed that the Board of Directors has requested, Chairman Kaloumaira and Managing Director Sereana Qoro to proceed on leave for 5 days to make way for the audit on corporate governance.
Naiveli said its business as usual in the Fijian Holdings Group and all group companies are functioning as normal.
Mariana Saumadu, the Group Audit Manager and Company Secretary will function as the Acting Managing Director of Fijian Holdings.
Lieutenant Colonel Leweni has clarified that only Kaloumaira and Qoro have been asked to step aside to allow for investigations.
He said further details will be revealed in due course.
