Almost all the members of the Tikina in the Tailevu province have acknowledged the assistance given by the government, the European Union (EU) and the Australian Embassy to help in constructing community halls, Kindergarten school and the purchase of water Tanks.
Tailevu provincial council Chairman Josefa Seruilagilagi said he is happy that the Tikina representatives have shown positive results in the village development.
One of the Tikina of Nailega has willingly agreed to plant bananas and market it too.
Meanwhile, Naisomua village thanked the Australian Embassy for funding 56 flush toilets with a grant of $12,000.
The Tikina of Tai Vugalei has named a new road from Nukurua to Nameka Bainimarama Road and thanked the government for assisting in the infrastructure.
The EU funded the construction of the Kindergarten in the Tikina Nuku, also with water tanks and school library.
