A Former Parliamentarian is urging the Interim Government to reduce tax on imported agricultural products so that farmers who have been severely affected by recent floods will find it easy to start farming again.
After visiting a number of flood affected areas Ragho Nand said he has been asked by many farmers to make this call as generating income through farming has become a tough task now.
Nand added it will be a relief to thousands of farmers around Fiji if this call is taken into consideration.
Meanwhile, it is believed that the interim cabinet is expected to make a number of decisions later this week on ways to assist businesses and farmers in the flood affected areas.
