The Interim Government and FASANOC will now be responsible to settle the balance of Athletics and Weightlifting arrears, and the FASANOC Headquarters Team at the Games, with the respective coaches, will take on the responsibility of looking after the athletes from these two sports.
Speaking to FijiVillage Sports, FASANOC President Vidhya Lakhan said it was the Board's decision to drop the two officials after they failed to meet payment schedules.
Lakhan added that when the Participation Budget for 2008 Beijing Olympics was formulated, it was agreed that the National Federations would pay their allocation in 3 installments.
However, both Federations were written to on 21st July and advised that because of their failure to pay their Federations allocations, their Section Managers were being dropped from the Fiji Team.
