Former Nadi soccer player and coach Navneeda Goundar has joined the Wheels of Change Team as a Vice president candidate for West.
Wheels of Change chairman, Fayaz Ali said Goundar has replaced Arvind Kumar Singh who was their earlier choice of candidate for the West because of uncertainty regarding his technical eligibility to contest.
A dental technician by profession, Goundar has had a colorful soccer career playing for the Suva and Nadi district teams before donning the national team jersey.
Goundar also served as the President for Nadi Football Association for ten years from 1994.
He remained the most successful president in Nadi soccer's history winning the National soccer league, Fiji Fact, BOG and IDC tournaments and also being rewarded with the Fiji FA Best Administrator in 2001.
Presidential nominee in the Wheels of Change Team, Shailendra Prasad said Goundar brings a wealth of experience which only augurs well for development of soccer in the country.
